How to use a Righthand with Mixpanel
Prepare a reviewed funnel-definition review packet from approved Mixpanel inputs, with a worked example, complete brief, access checks, and reconciliation.
Quick answer
Use an approved Mixpanel funnel result and its definition to prepare a review packet for the product analyst. Preserve the selected events, identity unit, filters, and conversion window before comparing a percentage with another report.
Start with a funnel-definition review packet that the product analyst can check against the original records. Righthand prepares the review artifact; the source application remains the operational record.
Establish the input route
Mixpanel’s Funnels documentation describes conversion analysis across event steps and configurable funnel settings. Official Mixpanel reference, checked October 6, 2026.
Have the analyst supply the saved report definition and permitted result extract together. For a connected read, verify the project and available reporting operation. An event export without the report settings is not enough to reproduce a funnel’s result.
Check the current integration directory and Righthand setup documentation. A listed app does not establish every read or write action. For a connected route, verify the assigned account, available operation, object scope, and one permitted sample read. This guide also works from an explicitly supplied, approved extract; it does not require an unverified native operation. Keep credentials out of the article brief.
Worked input and output
These three records are synthetic illustrations, not customer results or a hands-on integration test.
| Approved input | Proposed review output |
|---|---|
| MP71: 50 synthetic starters; 20 synthetic converters | Show 20/50 = 40% for this illustrative selected cohort |
| MP72: comparison report uses a longer conversion window | Flag window mismatch before describing the rate difference |
| MP73: step name reused with a different property filter | List exact event/filter pair as the step identity |
The packet should make the calculation and its meaning inspectable. MP71 is only an arithmetic illustration, not a performance result. MP72 cannot support an improvement claim until the definitions match. MP73 needs the property constraint beside the event name so two visually similar steps do not look equivalent.
A complete first-run brief
Use an approved Mixpanel funnel extract and saved report definition for October 12–16, 2026. Fields: project reference, report reference, step events, order setting, conversion window, identity unit, cohort filter, start count, converted count. At Monday 9 AM America/Los_Angeles, prepare a funnel-definition review packet as source-linked Markdown in my private review thread. Preserve record identities and the extract timestamp. Group unresolved items by next action and responsible owner. Reviewer: product analyst. Do not alter tracking, redefine live reports, change product settings, infer causation, or publish performance claims. Result check: Reproduce one percentage from its supplied numerator and denominator; confirm every report-setting match.
A permitted preparation step does not authorize a consequential write or an external send. Resolve proposed changes through the app's supported process after the responsible owner approves their exact scope.
Reconcile before widening the task
Counting event occurrences instead of the report’s selected identity unit can produce a different denominator. A changed cohort or window can also explain a rate difference without any product change. Preserve these settings and route causal interpretation to the analyst rather than adding a confident narrative.
Trial the packet at one funnel review. Ask the analyst to reproduce MP71 and explain MP72’s window mismatch. Reuse the brief with a frozen definition on the next period, while recording any intentional definition change as a separate comparison break.
For the first acceptance review, keep the original input slice beside the result and mark which items were checked. If access or evidence is incomplete, return that gap with its record identity rather than a confident completion statement. Review Pricing using the actual preparation workload and correction effort.
