## Make the campaign report answer a real question

Righthand can help prepare a Mailchimp campaign review for a named sent campaign. The useful output explains the observed delivery and engagement signals, identifies source gaps, and proposes questions for the marketer. It should not claim a campaign generated revenue unless the approved conversion source supports that conclusion.

Mailchimp's [campaign-report reference](https://mailchimp.com/developer/marketing/api/reports/get) separates sent-message information, bounce data, opens, and clicks. Keep unique and total metrics distinct. A repeated click is not another subscriber, and an open metric should not be presented as proof that someone carefully read the message.

## Set the campaign and reporting window

Give the account, campaign ID, audience context, send time, reporting cutoff, and the business question. For an illustrative newsletter review, compare the primary call-to-action's click evidence with the approved registration source, keeping those two systems' counts separate until the matching rule is clear.

Check Mailchimp's exposed tools through [integrations](/integrations). If reports or link detail are unavailable, provide an approved report export or browser review. The first workflow is read-only and does not require changing subscribers or sending a follow-up.

## A worked review brief

> At 11 AM America/Los_Angeles two business days after the selected newsletter send, review its approved Mailchimp report and supplied registration extract. Return a private review with campaign ID, send time, reporting cutoff, sends, bounce categories, unique and total engagement metrics as labeled, and primary-link evidence. Keep registration outcomes separate unless a verified matching rule applies. Do not resend, change audiences, or contact subscribers. Send to me for marketing-owner review and reconcile every metric to its source label.

This example is illustrative. The timing is a reporting convention chosen by the owner, not a universal best time to evaluate every campaign.

## Define a useful result

An example finding could say: “Primary link has recorded clicks; registrations cannot be attributed because the supplied extract lacks the campaign identifier.” That identifies a measurement gap without assigning unsupported success or failure.

Include the numerator and denominator when reporting a rate. If one export uses unique subscribers and another uses events, do not divide them casually. Preserve the original metric definition and explain what comparison remains valid.

## Reconcile changing reports

Metrics can change after the first snapshot. Label each report's cutoff and compare equivalent windows on repeat runs. A refreshed report should update the existing review rather than appearing as a second campaign.

Access failures, incomplete link reports, and missing audience context should stay visible. If the marketer approves a follow-up later, separately verify recipient eligibility, suppression, exact content, and sending authority; campaign performance analysis itself grants none of those actions.

Define recurring review through [Righthand's responsibility guide](https://docs.righthand.ai/guides/responsibilities-and-workflows). Check [plans](/pricing) for the intended reporting workload.
